  • It is incredible that a 9 year old could excel in so many areas. You have the world ahead of you and will do well in anything you choose to put your mind to. What a wonderful achievement. Everyone is so proud of you and your parents must be beaming from ear to ear. Excellent work.
  • Now Miss Phillis, we need to chat. This is not for your daughter this is for you. Do you remember saying how down in the dumps you got because of all the sacrifices you had to make. I tried to tell you it would be worth it someday. Today is that someday. Actually it is only the start of many "somedays" to come for you. Give yourself a pat on the back because you certainly deserve it. Smart children do not come from stupid parents. I could add a few more dumb sayings but I won't bother. I think you get the message and I don't ever want to hear you beat yourself up or put yourself down for doing without again. You have just demonstrated what an incredible contribution you have given to the human race. Not many can say that however many go to the hairdresser and buy expensive shoes. You know what I mean?
  • Awesome!!!! congrats to you and here we go

  • WOW ~ Now that is truly awesome and i thank you for sharing this wonderful news with us all. I send good wishes and Congratulations to your daughter :)
  • Hey, Phillis. This is one I really want to answer, but you didn’t mention your daughter’s name in the question. Could you fill it in before you read it to her? Hey, ______! Congratulations on a really successful year. Your Mom tells me that you won 9 honors that were presented at your awards ceremony. It’s terrific when other people recognize the successes we achieve, but oddly, it’s the successes that we recognize ourselves that count the most. Because they’re the ones that end up convincing other people to change how they’re living, what they’re doing, and how they’re treating other people. The thing is – people can fake their way through one or two achievements in school. But 9? That tells me you’re obviously serious about getting things done, and that what you do comes from the heart. Not surprising at all given how terrifically helpful your Mom has been to me. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, as they say. Congratulations, and best wishes, and when you start applying to colleges, I’d ask you to consider applying to Harvard (where I went to school). It’s very competitive, but as my Aunt Carol told me when I applied – if you don’t shoot for the Moon, you’ll never even hit the barn door. All the best. Congratulations, again. And good luck. Chris
  • Congratulations. Very special congratulations, you have beaten the great ChaosGod. The most I ever received was 7. I was the top reader though, however that could have been attributed to the fact no one else cared about books.
  • Thank-you,everybody!I'm gonna brag this 1 time.I got the highest score for reading,english/L.A.,and science 4 the ENTIRE YEAR.I got citizenship,A/B honor roll...Oh,i got 2 go to a bowling party, too.I'm not good at most sports!P.S. My name is Allison. Thanks for leaving that for me,MOM!Hahahaha!:-)For real,though.Thanks,mommy.(yay!smiles!)
  • I wish if only she should add top writer ever to it in the history of her school!
  • WOW!!!! That is amazing!!! Well done!!!!!! I am sure you will carry on the good work when you are back at school in September! That really is fantastic! (and I am a teacher, so I know how good that is!)
  • Congratulations! That's really something to be proud of!
  • I am an elementary teacher. Reading is probably the most important skill you can learn and develop in school. Good reading skills open doors to the future. If you can read well, the best educational opportunities and careers are waiting for you. But, reading is not just about getting an education and a good job. Reading is one of the most satisfying past-times that I know. Reading a good story can transport you to a different time and place where you will meet new people, creatures, adventures, etc. Congratulations on a job well-done. Keep reading, girl!
