  • Well if you haven't noticed, we have been on a downward slide of goings ons. Look at our president. That should be the first sign of trouble. Not all of us are that out of touch, but it seems many are.
  • I think the US has a long way to go on where things are in the world...but they are getting better.
  • Tell me something. Why is it so important for every American citizen to know in-depth details about, apparently, every other country in the world? Why is it our responsibility to know this? Do all the citizens of other countries really know all this information about all of the other ones? I might as well research the geopolitical climate of Mongolia. Of course there will be people interested in this kind of thing, but most of us never use this information in our daily lives, so why should we know all this stuff about the world?
  • When did Northern Ireland split from the UK? I do think you give Americans too much credit and I suggest that you will find the same misunderstanding in many other countries. A sample size of four is less than reliable.
  • I'm an American and I and my whole family know the Republic of Ireland IS NOT part of the UK and that your currency is the Euro not the Pound. The northern section from just below Inniskillen across to the east is in the UK. We visited Ireland last year and traveled from Dublin up to Inniskillen where my wife's ancestry is from, down to Galway to Ballyvauhan to Cork and Blarney and back up to Dublin. Had a great time. BTW, not just Americans in general are "geo-challenged", I've talked to alot of Europeans who cannot even place where a state is in the US and I have to alway say "do you know where Texas is located?" I don't even live in Texas but they sure cannot tell me where my home state of Arkansas is.(NE border of Texas BTW) Some cannot even tell me where Texas is! I think this is a worldwide problem since I've heard and read about it in our news and the BBC.
  • I thought Northern Ireland was.
  • It's called sarcasm...
  • When did nothern ireland split from thr uk? Only the republic of ireland isnt part of it, does anyone really care? especially the americans? why would it bother them
  • Northern Ireland is still part of the UK. The island itself is Ireland, it compromises both sections. The south is Eire which is indeed an independent country.
