Help answer this question below.

Why are people getting frantic about 2012 and the whole mayan calendar thing? Did i miss something on the news or something? Is everyone supposed to convert into mayan beliefs and religion for some reason or what? What do you think about this issue?

    Paranoid people & idiots will latch onto whatever prediction or conspiracy theory is currently being touted. How many times have these people been wrong & yet they never learn.
    Specifically with the whole 2012 thing they also seem to have very little actual knowledge about what they're spouting.
    As you can probably guess, I'm not sympathetic towards their apocalyptic nonsense!

    It's silly.
    Everyone loves sensationalism and a good crisis or disaster.
    If there isn't one trhey will make one up.
    It's just another excuse to wring your hands and cry "the sky is falling" People love that stuff remember Y2k? same basic idea.

    i don't know why either.i suspect that "sheeple" will follow anything.i think the 2012 jusy signifies the end of period and the start of a new one.

    I don't think it is an "issue" worth worrying about. I believe there is no truth in the rumour; however, if it were to turn out to be true there would be absolutely feck all we could do about it anyway....
