• Like I said, we were packed in like sardines. There were so many people that it was impossible for the conductor to get into the car to check tickets. I had people pressed against me on all sides and couldn't budge an inch. Just before we reached Vicenza another woman passed out while standing up. They couldn't even lay her down!
