Bring out the candles and a deck of cards. this has happened to us many times. we are prepared.

If all else fails, we blow out the candles and investigate each other.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Dust off the books (you know, stuff made of PAPER...crazy and antiquated, I know, but they can be fun!) and hope the candlelight is enough to read by :)

I make use of my flashlight collection (yes I admit it...I have a flashlight fetish), and if the outage is for an extended period, I start the generator.

If I'm with people we tell jokes and stories. If I am alone I read or sit outside and watch what is going on in the neighborhood. If it's out for a long time I whine and complain.

I make calls and talk to friends and family, brush-up old acquaintances. Write snail mails (which are considered valuable these days). Play guitar.

Read by candle light. I have many candles.. most of the time they're lit instead of the light, anyway, because they smell scrummy.

I sit down, read a good book, catch a few more hours of sleep, hang out with friends, you know, what people did before tv.

I'd just look out the window, it's like a 3D episode of COPS.

Most often I am asleep whenever the power goes out. However during the black out a few years back, me and my friend were bored out of our minds while the power was down for a few days. We played Monopoly mostly.

Go out and take a walk up the local hill to see the ickle bunnies and other animals. I like flora and fauna, I might even take the book I am currently reading with me.

I try to read if I hav that ability with the lack of light and such, or I'll play board games, or go hang out outside the house, if possible.

During the summer one year we had Thunderstorms mostly everyday. Our power would go out constantly, we got tired of sitting in the dark all the time so we bought a generator. One of the best things we ever did.
