I have been depressed in the past, but got over it with cognitive behavioural therapy. The key is to want to get better and being honest with yourself and your therapist. Not admitting to your shortcomings because of pride is not an option. I am off meds. Now, whenever I feel like slipping back, I pull myself up by using what I learned. I also make sure my future is always bright, so I make goals for myself and strive to reach them. I know this sounds like textbook stuff, but it really works. It's the power of poisitive thinking.
