Is it possible to clean an engine that has sat in an old chickin house for about 30 years or is it best to strip the car and rebuild with new parts? its a 74 caprice

Yes and you will really have something. People are always doing that. Just take your time. Baking soda cleans a lot of grease off things and built up dirt.

Depends on the vehicles mileage and condition. If the mileage is low, i would attempt to clean the engine first. use only minimal water and soap or degreaser. Check the oil. change if its needed. Use a hot battery and see what happens. You may be surprised.

Yes but make sure you don't start it without changing all the fluids first, you should also do a preventive maintenance check by testing key components i.e. alternator, belts etc.. Cleaning the engine and interior can come later, just make sure it's runnable first.
