Does workmans comp pay for the days I am missing due to an on-the-job back injury?

    workman's comp will usually pay you 2/3 of your gross monthly income if you were injured on the job. that is, of course, assuming your employer has workman's comp insurance. go to a workman's comp doctor, not your private doctor. as stated above, stay on top of the paperwork. let your employer have copies of all documents the doctor gives you. if you are off work for more than a month you will probably be required to fill out a monthly status report for the workman's comp insurance carrier. provide copies of all documents the doctor has given you to them also. in most cases you will have had to miss at least 7 days of work before they will open a claim. but the claim will be retro-active from the date of injury.

    I'm not positive, you'll have to check the laws in your state; but I would think so. Just make sure all the necessary paperwork is in within 30 days. Call whoever you need to, to make sure everything that needed to be done; got done.
