Is it true that a mortgage payment is due for the month lived in your house, unlike rent which is pre-paid for the month?

    Well paying mortgage has nothing to do with living in the house, when you buy the house, you generally have few weeks before your first payment is due.
    When renting it's abvious why you have to prepay the rent, because if you don't pay, you might be living there for two months for free (eviction time) and landlord is not getting anything.
