Help answer this question below.
I love staying up with technology but honestly it gets a little too much sometimes. Im not really big with the texting except with my girlfriend. I damn sure dont do that twitter crap. I dont like people knowing what Im up to all the damn time. But I try to stay available so sometimes i have to. Other than that If you want to get at me just call me on the phone.
I'm 71 years old. True, this texting thing is not part of my world. I consider myself fortunate that I can find my way to the Internet and AB.
But I think texting is fine. There's new and more to come...and I hope the young can keep up with the speed of all the changes as they come flyin'. In their own way, they're all good. But don't forget how to actually talk to...and love...each other, OK?
I don't mind being left behind.

Since I do not own a cell phone I have never texted anyone. I do find it very annoying when people use text speech in everyday life and in their questions on here. I sometimes wonder if we will all just end up grunting at each other like cave men.
Hate it for sure.
It's pretty awesome, I'm all for it. Not as a means to replace communication, but as a means to augment it.
With ever increasing frequency, we're hearing about traffic as well as train accidents happening because the driver was texting.
I NEVER have texted! I swear! So I can't say either way!
I like texting pictures of flowers to my loved ones.

I think that while it proves useful, it is more of a hindrance. It allows people, such as the grade 9s and 10s at my school to constantly contact each other when they have nothing to say and should be doing other things (like paying attention in class) and many of my classmates behave similarly, but the younger students are typically worse. Also, there's the problem of texting and driving, which is very dangerous, but many people see as harmless.
It's verging on boredom.
How could anyone be against more and better methods of communication?
Out of context, it is a malady known as textitus. One man was recently admitted to a psychiatric unit for compulsive texting disorder.
..friend for sure...I use it some days more than others and I use IM too....sometimes phone calls are not practical and texting is perfect for those situations....plus it's fun..
I text a lot. It's quick, private and fun. I actually hate speaking face-to-face because it's so awkward for me. Texting lets me think of what I want to say and get everything correct before hitting Send.
I grew up during the age of the rotary phone. I enjoy talking face to face and my phone is used for talking only. And not that tic tac toe type of communication people now love so much.
I don't use my microwave to send emails so why would I use a phone to type a message. Phones were made to talk on, not type messages. The time it takes you to type a message you could have three sentences in before hanging up. Just call me old fashioned.
When they perfect voice to Txt.
Too many kids I see driving and Texting. Its against the law but they dont listen.
its great!!
A bit of both. Its like a drug in the end i guess. So additive and so anti social.
