Most muffin recipes these days are too sweet and cake like. My Gram's muffins were firmer and not as sweet. Does anyone have some older muffin recipes?

I have heard adding applesauce to them in the place of regular oil will help to make them better. Not sure as I have never done it! :-) +5 . If it calls for 1/4 Cup of oil use 1/4 Cup of Applesauce in it's place.
