    OK!...Minor details it is:

    When the movie "Ben Hur" debuted in Athens (back in the '60's) someone pointed-out they misspelled Charlton Heston's last name as "eston"...the answer was it was by design as "heston" in the Greek language means "to crap ones pants"

    Lived for a short time near Athens airport, Athens itself was mostly smog-bound, and when the US navy pulls into Piraeus all the prices in bars and restaurants go up 50%, the cops were very laid back, often turning a blind eye for this then underage driver. As girls over twelve seem to be kept under lock and key, it is an English grannies paradise as at 55 they are fair game to a twenty year old Greek man. I have through living there developed a lifelong hatred for aubergines!

    I have worked in Athens for six months, have visited various Greek islands. Spent my honeymoon on Corfu....before it got quite so commercialised....

    I didn't like Athens very much ... crowded and incredibly dirty ... and while the Acropolis may be incredibly famous and important, I thought it was a Pile-of-Crap-Olis ... but from there we went on a cruise, and the rest of the trip was gorgeous weather, stunning scenery, and great food ... my favorite port was Santorini, a beautiful city perched on a cliff with an incredible view of the Aegean Sea
