Help answer this question below.

My Ipod shuffle (2nd gen) will not connect to my system. It doesn't show up in itunes or the device manager in my computer. Therefore I can't interact with it on any level. The USB port and (non-apple) wire both work because it will charge. Any ideas?

Everytime I connect my ipod to the computer it disables the USB port on the computer and therefore I cannot charge the ipod or transfer music from itunes to the ipod. The computer then needs to be re-booted to get the USB port to work again.
