We wouldn't have much of a choice now would we??? Either deal with it or don't get pregnant would be the only option.

I honestly do not think that I would be able to go through it I hate pain, hospitals and needles. I am a male midwife and what I see women go through to bring a child into the world is horrific especially when the labour goes wrong and I have to perform an assisted delivery with forceps, ventouse and not to mention the episiotomy. I know a lot of men say that they could do it, however, in my experience they can barely watch their partner giving birth without fainting or running out of the delivery room so how can they say that they could do it. I had a toothache the other day and it was like I was dying so I will hold my hand up and say without any doubt that I could not go through 18 hours (sometimes longer) of labour, I would be dead after the first five minutes of that I am certain and I take my hat of to the female race and will forever respect them.

I believe so. The urge to reproduce despite the pain is an awfully powerful one.

Of course they could, assuming they had the proper equipment. Would they welcome the pain? No. But women also fear that and will avoid it if there is another way acceptable to them individually.

I think to answer "no" without scientific reason or proof is sexism. Yes, women can be sexist against men, and it's equally wrong as any other unfounded stereotype.

This is the same as calling someone "brave" because they went through a tramatic experience. They're no different than anyone else, except they had to experience something they didn't prefer to experience. They were faced with a difficult situation and didn't die. Not dying doesn't necessarily mean you're brave.

    I am female.
