Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
It will reset your ipod and when it boots back up you can select the language of your choice.
I want to buy a new nano; can I put my existing library on my new nano?

You're welcome. It works to "unfreeze" your ipod too (mine will randomly freeze every 6 months or so)
