I've capsized both my sailboat an many canoes. The sailboat is scarier because you have to be careful not to get caught in the lines, while on a canoe you're more worried about the contents of the canoe than your life being at risk. But anytime I capsized, I was tacking and usually hiking, so generally my adrenaline would be going enough so I enjoyed it. Unless the boat turtled. Then it got less fun very fast.
Yes, several times.
Tipping a canoe out and climbing under it to sing a song loud enough for the people on shore to hear was one of the canoe training exercises I did at girl scout camp as a child.
Later as a teen I trained in canoe-over-canoe rescue, and we would go out in pairs of canoes and take turns tipping ours out and being the rescuers. It was great fun!
Yes, plenty of times, I used to sail Catamarans & they always tipped over it was fun. One time time though a small speed boat hit me in the Gulf of Mexico and I went over & was thrown about 20 feet. That was not fun!
No, but years ago my husband and I went fishing in the Tennessee river backwaters. On this particular day, they decided to do some sort of draining of the water. It was awful. We had to get out in the snake infested water in order to push the boat to shore. Reminded me of The African Queen.
Yep! and that's was only the beginning why I don't like the water today and besides a couple of all most drownings.
Yes,a canoe. It only got fun when we tipped theirs back ;)
Well...it wasn't a boat so much as a raft.
I went white water rafting in the Rocky Mountains, flipped out of the raft and landed on a rock. Fun...minus the injury to an already injured back, sure! It is one of those things I'm glad I got to do once, but I'll never do it again!
No, but it's fun to tip a kayak on a hot day.
I was on a canoe with 4 others once that tipped, and a woman on board had an asthma-panic attack as a result. It was rather scary; fortunately I was trained in lifesaving.

You're reading Have you ever been in a boat that tipped into the water and caused you to fall out? If so, did you find the experience fun? Why or why not? Also, what kind of boat was it?
