I would do some mushrooms simmered in butter and white wine to top your steak with. And for the side I love creamed spinich.

I would like some home-made potato salad and corn on the cob. It is cookout time and so I would like to eat on a picnic table on a patio - although I currently have neither!

Rice Pilaf. Brussel Sprouts for veggies.

I love a baked potato and a side of grilled asparagus. If it's a special occasion, we add a lobster on the side (I live on the coast so we get Canadian lobster right off the boat. YUM-O)

Steak is perfection in itself and hardly needs an accompaniment, but I'd choose mac and cheese or mushrooms.

Grilled asparagus and baked potato.

Mushrooms, Grilled Tomato and Fries or baked potato.

Mashed potatoes and mixed carrots and peas.

I like roquefort sauce, and fries!!

Baked Potato please w/the butter and sour cream :)

Steak is already too much food. So I'd just use some light salad for the side. Like this: http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo-ear/RecipeController?language=EN&recipeType=1&action=recipe&recipeID=2630 They have tons of recipes of really refined dishes, look up maybe you'll find something worthy your steak :)

It's gotta be a baked potato, salad & bread. Put potatoes in the oven an hour before you plan to eat. Then make the salad and take a break until it's time to put the steak on the grill, or wherever you're going to cook it. When you get ready to cook the steak put the bread in the oven to warm. When the steak is done, take the potatoes & bread out of the oven and set the table with the salad, bread, steak & potatoes. It is a lot of food, but I make sure I eat the salad first, then as much of the potato & steak as I need to fill me up. These things easily warm up for great leftovers if there are any. And the baked potato has to be loaded with butter, sour cream, chives, bacon bits (you can cook a couple of strips of bacon while the potato bakes)and a pile of fresh grated Parmesan with lots of fresh ground black pepper. A splash or two of Tabasco won't hurt it one bit.
