  • Dude he was the promisary note from the printing press he is the ultimate pretender he will whore around to take credit for good things and blame Bush for the bad. He is truely already a failure in that his Presidency is the blame the last guy message.
  • He has at least the rest of his current term to fix W's mess. You guys really bought into your own 'messiah' BS, didn't you?
  • No. Look at what's going on right now. He promised to help the people and small businesses of America but instead he's giving billions to big corporations that are going to fail regardless.
  • first he is an attorney, he speaks with a forked tounge!(trained), second he is a little boy in a world of mature men and women with more experience then he will obtain in 4 years as president, he speaks before he acts and fails to meet the promises he makes both spoken and implied
  • This question is a bit on the impulsive side. The man has not even been in office for 6 months and people are expecting him to be some type of miracle worker. It took this country almost a decade to get in the trouble it's in now. I would suspect it could take just as long to get out of it. PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE
  • He might not have kept all the promises he intended to keep, but the guy's been in office five months; take it easy. I'm sure all the promises he didn't intend to keep have all been un-kept, for what that's worth to you.
  • The man has been in office for seconds. Let's ask this at the end of the first term at least?
  • No, he hasn't. But I defy you to find *any* President (or any politician at any level) that has kept every promise they made when running for office. Unfortunately, President Obama has made political calculations that he has to 'give in' on some things (prosecuting Bush admin. war crimes, seizing 'zombie' banks, tax cuts, etc.) to get some other things (health care reform, limits on carbon emissions, etc.) I do not understand his lack of boldness, but I'm willing to cut him some slack for now.
  • Well, since no one besides him knows what his true intentions actually are/were, no one can answer that exactly. I will say that so far he seems to be doing ok on some issues, but he still hasn't had time to really do much. The only big complaint I have about him atm, is that he is not going after the companies that are moving their jobs from the US to overseas like he said he would. He said that he was going to work hard to take away government support and tax breaks from companies who ship jobs overseas, now he isn't. We lose hundreds, if not thousands of American jobs each day to cheap people overseas, and the companies don't seem to realize that is just another big part of why the economy sucks.
  • a president intending to keep promises is an oxymoron.
  • Hmmm if we are going by what he "intended" to keep, then it's possible. In any case, I doubt any president has ever (at least in the modern era) kept all of his promises whether he intended to or not. No president ever gets everything that he wants. Obama has certainly fudged on some things and in some cases outright shocked the people that voted for him.
  • Give the man a chance. Bush had 2 consecutive terms to screw this country up. Geeze!
  • Lucky,he has broken a few.
  • The ones he "intended to keep" probably all.
  • It's impossible to know someone else's true intent; we can only infer it. Most politicians know that they are making conflicting promises (guns AND butter), but they have to do so to get into office. It should be no surprise that conflicting promises cannot be kept; however, the President will keep as many as he can.
  • No he has backed out on all of them saying he did not realize what he was against. But they all do that.
  • Dont know. What I am sure of is the fact that this is May.Many say give the guy a chance.Ok.He has that chance by virtue of being elected. Some have said give him a full term to straighten some of this mess out.Same answer.By virtue of being elected he has that.Others say he will have things fixed by 2016.As if he MIGHT get that next four year term.I only know that it is a mess. And honestly one that might have some involvement in the way of blame doesnt seem to get too much.Bill Clinton. Some of this started there.Blame Bush for the fault that is his.I am behind that.Obama should get his fair share as well.Perhaps there is a piece of blame left for Mr. Clinton. Is My opinion.Doesnt make it right or wrong.Just Mine.
  • "kept all his promises?" Oh, Payton, you are so cute! (pinches ya cheeks) I love your questions, they always make me laugh. Pts for that. But, no. Oblunder will not keep his promises. He went out during the campgains and drizzled honey on everything to make it sweet but when the bees start to sting, he knows he holds the "blame Bush card" in his greedy little hand. And to those who support this president and yell at us to be patient-where was your patience when Bush was in office? Where was your understanding?? Where was your tolerance? You had none. Now you get offensive when we throw it back at you. Get over yourselves, crazy kool-aid drinking liberals.
  • No, but he's kept enough of them to keep my vote. So far.
  • I love the qualifier, Payton.
  • I didn't want him to keep most of them. So far it looks like Gitmo is NOT closing and illegals are NOT getting amnesty. Still too early to call though.
  • No he said he could not keep them, just like all the presidents before him.
