Help answer this question below.
Just make sure you can afford to lose a lot of money.
Don't play with money that you can not afford to lose. If you want try and win, play games you are familiar with or are willing to learn. Gambling can be a lot of fun when you play within your means. Go with your gut instinct, it's probably right. Play slots if you just want the luck and thrill of playing. The casinos are willing to teach you how to play other games or they have will have information on how to play the table games, Just ask.
GOOD LUCK, I hope this helps.
Stick to the slots :)
When it comes to casino games, there really isn't much skill involved (it doesn't take skill to pull a lever on a slot machine, for instance. And, the skill involved with Video Poker is very limited). On the otherhand, when it comes to table games like Texas Holdem Poker (the kind I play) there is a lot of skill involved. Anyway, since you say you are an amateur, set a certain amount you want to win and that you will stop at. You gotta know when to quit.

You're reading What advice or gambling strategy can you give to an amateur going to Las Vegas?

Nope, not a lot! I'll have to set a limit on my entertainment budget! So are you saying plan to lose?!

Well, put it this way: The casinos are there to get your money, not to make you rich. It's obvious that, in general, people leave with less money than they bring in. The trick for them is to promote those few exceptions, to convince people that in Vegas you can win big, when in truth the likelihood is that you lose.

Actually, I hope to win but in reality expect to lose. I don't plan on making it a habit...just an enjoyable experience....aren't you going to wish me luck, though!!!?
