No. Marriage is not a right.
-
yes, we all should be equal U_U
-
I am always on the side of equality.
-
Yeah but i wish the rest of the world wud catch up!
-
I'm not gay.. lol. Couldn't resist.
-
Delighted.
-
I am happy any time the people of the United States are given equal rights.
-
I'm simply gay for all those gay people.
-
Doesn't matter either way to me...even if I did live in New York I wouldn't be effected by the bill being passed.
-
Very happy... Looks like this world is coming to end after all.....
-
Hell yes! any move to give all our citizens their fundemental civil, constitutional rights is one less fight I have to fight!
-
Very, very happy. I have gay friends and relatives and I am now glad they have the same rights and opportunities that I do. Yeah!
-
Yes and no. There are a lot of good things going on in my life now but there are things that have significant negative impacts also.
-
I am not happy or sad about it. What others want to do with their life is up to them. And if they are gay and want to marry then I say go for it!! :-) +5
-
It's one more step in the right direction
-
I'm glad that they have their equal rights now but I'm not happy that it was even an issue. That's a right that shouldn't have required a fight. Equal rights for all. Where did you hear this?
-
Delighted. A day that needs to come to all juristictions.
-
That's great- But I won't be truly happy till everyone in all 50 states has equal rights.
-
Hell f***ing yeah, but you should see me after they are all done.
-
I do not think happy should be used with the rights of the law. I am not gay and I am a Christian and I am in full agreement with gay marriages as long as the government issues marriage license to people. If the government requires seperation of state and church then religious preferences should not be part of the consideration. By the law ANYONE whom comes to the window for a marriage license cannot be descriminated against.
-
Yes but I wish California would legalize it!! :(
-
no gays r strange
-
I am always happy....I couldnt care less if NY wants to pass another bill....It doesnt effect my life in any way so I cannot be bothered by it.
-
No, they still haven't passed a bill legalizing polygamy. Now that same sex marriage is being legalized, the discrimination against polygamists will hopefully end.
-
im happy, i dont understand why people would care if homosexual marrage was legal or not. i think gay or lesbian people should be allowed the EXACT rights everyone else recives. i mean.. how dose it affect aneyone else, unless youre gay or lesbian? so why vote against something if you know youre hurting someone else but the result wouldent affect you at all?. i tend to wonder if ppl like causing others pain and discomfort
-
There are perhaps more important issues that needed to be dealt with before this, such as frsh air! ... but then thats politics I guess :) http://www.genomenewsnetwork.org/articles/2004/07/23/airpolution.php Happy weddings >♥<
-
Yes i am! But...i only hope that i live to see ALL the states here in America pass it.
-
Neither happy nor sad, No feelings on it good or bad. It's a non issue with me.
-
I am gay!
-
I am happy for every advancement of basic human right - so yes. +5
-
Yes. Now let's make it federal, and I'll be even happier.
-
Erratticly so!!! :) GO GAYS!I have a gay sister, and I hope that she can become married to the person of her choosing some day.*
-
I will be if it passes. It hasn't yet (as of 6/2/09). It passed the state Assembly; it's pending in the state Senate and whether it passes or not is very much up in the air. It corks me off that somebody would ask this particular question right now -- some people in New York might read this and think it's all taken care of. It's not. If you live in New York and think that passing this bill to give equal marriage rights to gay and lesbian couples is a good idea, please call or write your state senator.
-
I don't care either way. No, wait, I do. Anyone who WANTS to get married is just stupid.
-
Sort of. I'm sad my lesbian aunt has passed on because she would have loved to have been able to marry her partner and was a New York native.
-
I am happy whenever the government gets its nose out of personal issues like marriage.
-
not really. I believe in accepting and owning who you are. marriage is a treditional term, homosexuality is an alternative lifestyle. accept that you are not treditional and get a non-treditional term I support all civil unions having the same legal standing as the treditional civil union of marriage, but I am against changing the meaning of the word marriage.
-
I am!
-
Sure. Why not? How does that impact my life at all? How is it any of my business who someone chooses to love? I don't ask permission of outsiders about whom I can love. I say it's A-OK with me. Happy Tuesday to you! :)
-
Yes, my ex lives in New York. When I get married, I'm moving up there so she can be my MOH.
-
Extremely happy. Gay marriage shouldn't even be an issue. It hurts no one.
-
Why shoudn't gay people be as miserable or happy as the rest of us? Love does not wear a tag!
-
As long as it is not being performed in Christian churches, I'm thrilled.
-
Shrug. Now NY gays also have all the pleasures of legal divorce.
-
Very happy for all my gay and lesbian friends in New York.Pop a cork for me folks! :-) +5
-
I'm never happy about religious laws being passed. I'm against any marriage law. From a legal/government stand point anyone looking for the government benefits of that are currently associated with marriage should have to apply for a civil union be they straight or gay. Leave marriage in the church and leave church & state separate I say. +2
