Yeah, if someone isn't actually using it at the time, it's like they're saying, "I've got an earpiece with an annoying flashy LED, I'm cool." Meanwhile I'm probably not the only one who'd like to grab it off their face and smash it with a hammer.
In fact, I can't think of anything more 'douchey'!! It's like, "look at me, I am so cool". NOT
I do get what you mean. In my case, those earpieces are a life saver, though.
I have an implanted defibrillator/pacemaker. I can only use a cell phone on my right side so it doesn't interfere with the doohickey on the left side that keeps my heart running. And I'm right handed, so I need that hand to take notes when I talk on the phone, which I have to do -- a lot.
Like I said, I do get what you mean, but bear in mind there may be a complicated backstory that you might not be able to see.
But other than that kind of circumstance, you're right. It's a bit douchey. LOL.
Nope I think that just about tops it all.
The term I was thinking of was "dorky", but douchey will work in a pinch!
Those things don't really bother me, actually. The only time they really do is when the person wearing them is facing the other way so you can't see it and are talking.
Then, you're like, who are they talking to?!?!? Me?!?!?
Then you feel really dumb when you find out they're on the phone.
Anyone able to tell me a good universal remote control?

You're reading Is there anything more douchey than wearing a cellphone earpiece when you're not driving?
