Although caffine pills sort of work as taking coffee, they will not be a permanent substitute to a full night's sleep. Therefore, if you want to function at your top level, grab a night of sleep, because there's nothing in the world that would defeat a full 8 hours of ZzZ.

Yes, they give you an almost instantaneous burst of energy that lasts for a good amount of time.

    But be warned!

I am not a coffee drinker, nor do I drink much soda of any kind, let alone the caffeinated ones, and on a long drive (19 hours) my wife and I both took some generic caffeine pills so I wouldn't fall asleep at the wheel and she could stay awake to help me. We were so full of energy!

After about three hours (the package said to wait 'till then) we needed some more and took another dose and it had much less of an effect. Then, later that night we both had serious bouts of paranoia - not just fear, serious paranoia!

    But they do work.

Yes. I would know, too - I almost od'ed on them when I was a senior in high school. One handful of No-Doz is not the most productive way to make yourself alert.
