Why hasn't soccer caught on in the US? Will it ever rival Baseball, American Football or Basketball?

    I think football is getting gradually more popular in the US, despite the drawbacks that Brew guy mentions (which are also resented by a lot of people in the UK). The lack of scoring is a real problem though, I can see Americans getting fed up with that.

    The real question is, will cricket ever catch on in the US? Five days of slow play that can still end in a draw - what's not to love?

    Americans have not warmed up to soccer for many reasons including: fan violence, lack of scoring, racism, and diving.

    Soccer is actually getting quite a following, but mostly kids playing. perhaps when the kids who are playing now grow up it'll become more widely popular
