Will the phone industry need a bailout too?

Looks like the phone industry will have to adapt to an "all wireless" world not too many years from now. Once Satellite Internet becomes more affordable and because cell phones are becoming better and cheaper, there will be no need for a land line. Most people I know are keeping their landlines because they have to: The only broadband Internet service that they have is DSL, so they need to stick to the traditional telephone. Once that takes place, the phone industry will have to make some drastic adjustments.....but they are part of the wireless world. I don't think they will ever need a bailout.

No. The phone industry (AT&T, Verison, etc.) are all bunch of bastards who'll lie and cheat and commit fraud to make a profit.

When so many industries are getting bail out money, it is to be expected that the phone industry too will put up an appeal for tax payer's money. Accounts can always be cooked up to look as if they are in a real dire situation.
