I've had DSL for years without having a landline. No problem, just tell your DSL provider that's what you want.

DSL is based Entirely on a telephone line, so the short answer to your question is "no". Cable/Satellite would work without a phone, but not DSL.

You can use satellite or 3G networking over your mobile phone. But since you don't want satellite it leaves only the 3G option. But you'd have to look into the different packages on offer from ISP'smobile operator. It can be more expensive than traditional broadband but its an option.

Best thing to do is call a internet provider in your area and ask. As professionals in this field, they could answer all your questions. Probably could look up at http://www.whitepages.com/

I have a "dry-loop" DSL connection. I have no landline phone service or cable; only DSL. This service may not be available in all areas though.
