Question

Help answer this question below.

I just had an emergency root canal after getting a tooth knocked out. My gums swelled up heaps but what's troubling me is the colour. Is it normal for the gum above my knocked-out-put-back-in tooth to be grey and numb? It is also very tender when i bite.

The area is bruised, thats why it is grey, it's going to be a few weeks before any color comes back. Be careful when you bite or chew and do not put a lot of pressure on the tooth. If you have any bleeding that continues on more than a few days, consult your dentist asap. Such an injury can become reinfected and cause blood poisoning so if you feel ill or any severe headaches call your dentist asap.

Are you from TX? If so where? Im in Austin.

ring up your doctor/dentist and ask. it's better to be safe than sorry, and why endure pain and discomfort if you don't have to. all the best
