  • Yes. And so can any honest reader of that book. One that leaps to mind: Global flood in the last 10,000 years - didn't happen. +5
  • The question should be,"can you list any accuracies in the bible". The list would be very small.
  • Sure. Genesis, for instance, is almost just a string of inaccruracies.
  • No and I've read it very carefully. There is tons of stuff which is suspect but no way to prove it true/false. The discrepancy between what is preached in church and what is writen is so wide criminal conspiracy or scam come to mind.
  • Well they start from 'In the beginning...' and from then on it just goes down hill.
  • 1. Witchcraft exists 2. Spontaneous generation happens 3. The world is 6000 years old I can name more, but I first need to dig up my copy of the Bible from my closet.
  • I can list hundreds of contradictions and discrepancies. Most of which are minor and can be explained by apologetics. Some people like to claim because of the contradictions and discrepancies that the bible cannot be believed. Although I am atheist, I think this is a poor claim. It's a minority of Christians who claim the bible is inerrant--and they, in general, are not worth debating with. They maintain their faith despite the significant evidence that they are wrong. The majority of Christians do not insist that the bible is word for word inerrant. They don't try to use it as a history book or as a science book. Instead they use it as a guide of how to live their lives along with the guidance of their spiritual leaders. For the vast majority of Christians the historical and scientific contradictions and discrepancies in the bible have no meaning. The rest are more concerned with what they believe than in the truth.

  • God (no pun intended) where to start? From the beginning of the bible there's errancy, man and woman created then god makes adam a wife..so were they both made, was adam and lilith made and then eve came later..were adam and eve made together and eve 2.0 later on? Turn the other cheek but slay those who don't observe the sabbath...love thy neighbor but kill and take slaves....was jesus rich or poor? some things elude to him being rich some poor. The whole ark situation is not even feasible. Did Judas keep the silver and dies ina field he bought or did he throw the silver on the floor and hang himself? If god is infallable why does he change his mind? Was jesus crucifoed in the 5th or 6th hour? was he wearing a purple or scarlet robe? Was it Jethro or Hobab that was Moses' Father-in-Law? If god does not tempt man and he has free will why did he tempt Abraham? If all men are with sin how was Job, perfect and sinless? The earth is suposed to abideth forever and also melt with fervent heat and burn up. Jesus stated no man, only he had ascended to heaven that no man had ascended to heaven but he who had descended from heaven...but Elijiah went up into heaven in a whirlwind, Enoch and a few other went into heaven. Winged insects that go on all 4's when all winged insects go on 6 legs. The light of the moon will be as the light of the sun...the moon does not give off light. Rabbits do not chew their cud. No high mountain from which all the kingdoms of the earth can be seen...so many contradictions but my favorite is: (Paul-Corinthians 14:33)"God is not the author of confusion." has there ever been a book more confusing and open to interpretation than the bible?!
  • Copyright 1967, Random House. That's out of print these days. Not even the publication data is accurate!
  • Ever hear of Pollyanna? In that wonderful work, the title character teaches others they will find what they focus on. You ask for inaccuracies in the Bible. By keeping our eyes peeled for faults, that's all we will get out of The Good Book. We will miss all the wisdom and uplifting stories. Most inaccuracies in the Bible can be explained away as the fault of imperfect human languages, or the simplicity in early man's thinking. First with linguistic. My favorite Scripture to show the fallacies of the human tongue is Hebrews 6:1-2. A cursory reading makes it seem like Paul is asking us to leave faith, repentance, and baptism. In actuality, Paul says once you've mastered the basics, then go on to deeper principles. Now human understanding. The Bible classifies bats as birds and whales as fish. Back when the Bible was written, anything which flew was a bird, and things which swam were fish.
  • Wrong button or AB is really screwed up today.
  • There are no inaccuracies in the Bible. Man over the years have twisted verses from their original meanings and contexts making areas look inaccurate..In many cases people put today's modern understanding on words and sentences. This can cause misunderstanding. To understand the Bible one must understand the original words and their meanings. They must understand the jargon and the way people talked and said things when originally written. Only then can one begin to understand what the Bible is saying thus eliminating and what people want to term as inaccuracies.
  • There are no inaccuracies in the Bible because God by the Holy Spirit inspired every word. Sure men wrote the Bible but the Holy Spirit wrote it through those men. God is the same as He was in the beginning and He will never change.
  • I dare say I could.
  • That depends, which version of the Bible? Christian, NWT, JSIV
