I've been doing some research recently about Islam. Being an ex christian of 5 years, I must say that in many ways Islam seems much better than Christianity. What do you think?

I'm inclined to agree. I'm not religious but my oldest brother converted to Islam a couple of years ago. Consequently I did a fair bit of reading to understand why & it actually made a lot of sense. I just can’t do the supernatural thing.

I think that they are really the same religion. If you compare the fundamental beliefs of the two, and their historical origins, and their religious texts... well they are essentially the same thing.

In the abstract, most religions sound pretty good. Talk of equality, brotherly love, and personal dignity however frequently go out the window with the zealots who want to take your money, stifle art, abuse your kids, put a burqa on your wife, and wage war, all in the name of religion.

I'd say much of a muchness. They both have, as their foundation, belief in something I just don't believe is real.

People are afraid to criticize it. Maybe for fear of death threats. It's somewhat of me-too religion, but it's also one of domination and oppression. In my opinion.

The Books that relate to Abraham (Jews christians Muslims) tell us not to be seduced by other religions for if we do we will suffer the deadly consequences. Thousands of years of proof so far. Christian example Deuteronomy 13:9. So far I have not served to this demand so I may not be looked upon as saved. Taking someones life is not my idea of moral good will but then take a look at Romans 12:19-20-21

I think most of the world will become muslim in the new world order, Christians will be persecuted and killed for their faith, war will ensue and at the brink of destruction Jesus will return to establish his CHRISTIAN church and rule the world.

It is not better, it is not worse. It's the people in the religion that make it look bad or good. Be the best Christian you can be, be the best Muslim you can be and you will both see the end result as honoring God.

Clearly, Islam seems to have worked wonders for the Middle East, turning it into one of the most peaceful, loving, accepting, and all around beautiful places on the planet.

Being neither one nor the other, may I ask in what ways you find one superior to the other? Alternatively, why were you so dissatisfied with Christianity as to change your faith? In asking this question I have no motive other than to broaden my own horizons.
