  • It can technically be directly on it. As a general rule of thumb most usually hold back about 6 inches. This helps with the jackass neighbor that wants to question your property survey.
  • You need to call your propery office ... It can vary from area to area ; BUT as far as I know ..it can even be ON the property line ; just as long as it does not cross it or go across an easement ..
