  • The studio has already been paid by the distributor. The distributor gets paid by the store when they deliver the product. The store gets paid by the customer who purchases the product. If the product is stolen by someone, the store will raise the price of everything else in the store, to pay for the stolen product. If your friend is stealing, you might ask him to share because you are paying the price for whatever he stole.
  • The studio has already been paid by the artist, producer and label & distributor. The distributor gets paid when the store orders the product. The store will get paid when someone honest enough to purchase the product, pays for it.
