natural sunlight either early morning or evening . High noon light is too harsh and causes too many shadows. Noon is ok if it is an overcast day. Where I live, it is overcast a lot and it makes for great photography because it creates natural diffusion.

Mid sunset :) I got some great pics in Utah, Arizona and Colorado at that time, depends what you're shooting too

Bright Bright sunlight...like noon time. It makes all the things POP cuz its got that extra light on it. Really shows the "shades" or colors.
