Here's what I think is happening, Firebrand:
In my opinion, it's just another trolling tactic: Everybody knows that AB staff moderators get FLOODED with tens of thousands of moderations pretty much any given week, what with the size of AB and all.
This means, no matter how attentive the moderators are, some that SHOUDN'T be accepted slip through the cracks. (Yeah, I know: But that's their JOB and they should be able to catch such things easily.)
So trolls, who don't care how bad moderation choices affect their scores, or who create sock puppet accounts, flag things as offensive/spam/nonsense/duplicate all the time JUST to see how many they can get through the cracks. And probably flag some multiple times through sock puppet accounts, too, which may or may not make it seem more "legit". All part of their tactics to p*ss people off.
So, once in a while, something like this happens.
Maybe I'm right. Maybe I'm wrong. But I choose to believe it's NOT maliscious intent on the part of the staff Moderators.
Thankfully, the feedback system seems to work pretty well! It did for you in this case, and it has for me several times as well.
Illegitimus non carborundum!
Spiteful little morons, they seem to cling to you for some reason my dear :(
I would say spite combined with bad moderating.
Wasn't the most revealing picture one of you in a modest 2-piece swim suit?
I think it's spite.
i say NAY! its spite! ;)
Whoever it is that flagged your photos is a spiteful IDIOT !!! But what is worse is the person, on Answerbag staff, that agreed with the flag is a complete IMBECILE !!! Who the hell is minding the store ?!? Monkeys could do a better job. This is an outrageous and insulting slap in the face to a lady who always maintains an excellent example for others to follow. I have seen the photos in question and can attest to the fact that there is nothing offensive about them. Firebrand I don't want to see you leave, and I hope we can get this straightened out and hold someone accountable for this gaff. You have my full support and understanding regardless of what you decide to do. Please feel free to forward this to the administration, if you want to.
I AM NOT BELIEVING THIS!!!!! I've followed many of your postings, and have never seen anything that could remotely be considered offensive. Yes, you, as others, including this member, made statements of concern while we were going through the most recent "glitch" period, but I can't imagine that such would provoke an approved flagging of your photographs. I've seen your photos --not all, but many. I don't recall one that could be considered flaggable.
You've been around a long time. You are AB's most esteemed contriubtor...about which you are modest and "lorde" over none of us. You must know any number of AB members who likewise serve as administrator, including, I believe, Chief Wanbli, who seems to be a fair gentleman. Can you not call upon him by means of his posted email address and state your case?
I'm so sorry, Firebrand, that you are experiencing recent episodes with the site. It seems unseemly and for no understandable reason.
I hope you can get it rectified before your photographs "disappear" from the AB computer record, and that you will be afforded the proper regard that you deserve now and in the future.

That is ridiculous, it offends me that they were taken down!
I saw this, yesterday, and gave feedback about it.
I believe I understand part of a possible legit reason for it... You have at least two answers on that question, BUT that happened because you answered someone else's question with a pic of yourself, then the other question was merged in.
Problem with allowing flags for dupe answers (except for EXACT dupes) is that then someone can flag the GOOD answer as a dupe, and leave one that looks stupid alone.
If they are going to start working and accepting dupe answer flags (for individuals, multiple answers ONLY), then unless they are EXACT dupes, they need to merge the answers, add the points, and make sure all attachments are included in the NEW (oldest) answer.
As for "Spam/Offensive", I don't see anything offensive about those pictures. http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/189312 (They don't seem to be restored, yet.) SURELY the moderators can SEE what's spam/offensive, and don't take the word of a troll! (Sounds like someone needs a bit more training in this!)
some sorry spiteful Troll, marked those and they should be the ones removed from AB
Sorry to hear about your little problem (which kinda floored me, especially after all this time those pics have been there), and I'm really sorry about the migraines, Fire! You know, some people have nothing better to do than harass others. But, to come after YOU ... it has to have been a mistake! I have always considered you one of the "upper echelon" ABers ... always there with a kind word, or intelligent answer, and just an all around pleasure to communicate with! If your pics are bad, they better not look at my "outhouses", LoL!
Take some more medicine and get some rest, Fire! It'll all come out in the wash, ;)
Isn't jealousy an awful thing...chin up Firebrand we know the true you : )
Spite, and jealousy. You are very smart, sweet, and pretty, you're a triple threat:D I don't think they are offensive and the people who do need to relax and be less insecure. :)
Hi Firebrand,
I think firstly because of you rank on AB and secondly because your attractive pretty woman.
God I just seen how many points you have to get to move up a level at your rank OMG!!
The person who has done this has done it out of jealousy and that alone or in your words spite. How sad it is that individual hasnt the curtesy to speak up for their action(s) by exposing their ID. Its just a cowardice action like the anonymous people who down rate. Wish AB would change and made it public when people click these buttons. It would certainly cut it out and make it a better place to be and more honest environment. I would take it as a backward compliment, if you get what I am trying to say. :-)
Hey Numero Uno. It goes with the territory. Think of it as an Honor. Someone is giving you direct attention.
Probably. Maybe the person is just jealous of you because you are above everyone else on here when it comes to Levels.
It seems so sad that there are people consumed with jealousy of such a nice person whom I have never heard flaunt her achievements on Answerbag.
It is even sadder that a Moderator should have made such a senseless and bizarre decision as to agree with the troll.
So, AB finally got rid of most of the spammers? I've been gone for a few months, How did they do it?

Is the AB flagging system automatic if so how many flaggers will it take to remove a question or it to get a PB? ( Re Bornabrits problem)

Why do AB users gain a point for each approved flag? I think that only encourages excessive and unnecessary flagging.

What do you wish people would stop flagging? Why?

You're reading My Photographs which have been on Answerbag for Two and a half years and in second place on the list have been marked and accepted as offensive. Would all the people who agree with this ruling please say so, Or is this just spite again?

G'nite. I hope your headache gets better.
by The Chief on May 5th, 2009
Of course it's spite. Many people have had that "photo scam" done to them. Even Stabledog got taken down :) At least you're in good company, FB.

I think it's pretty darned cool when it backfires on the people who cause the problems!
by The Chief on May 5th, 2009
Like whom?
by HasntBeen on May 5th, 2009
For example, when a troll flags such an item and, after it's rejected, feedback promptly restores it.
.
It shows that the checks and balances in the system DO work to counter some of the abuse.
