I prefer a local bank. I like it when the bank tellers, etc know you by name and it tends to be easier to get a loan if you need one.

I use a credit union, and keep money stashed in my safe at home to keep it tax free.

I do my banking with a local bank. I have changed banks three times in the past ten years because the bank I was with was bought out by a national bank.

Definitely local bank since they are much more helpful and personable.

Don't like either. Prefer credit union. As a shareholder I have more say; terms, rates are better and don't have to deal with bank bureaucracy.

I'd rather not belong to any bank. I'd rather not mortgage my life and my time. No loans for me please.
