I used to have two male guinea pigs then one died. I decided to buy another and about a year later the new one and the old one began fighting. I have to keep them in separate cages now and its such a hassle when we travel etc.

Males are generally territorial, so it may take some time for them to get used to each other.
Try bathing them together so they get used to one another, and make sure the cage has enough room for both of them.
