  • Vista has certain hardware requirements for certain pieces of the OS tooprate properly. You can get away with an out of date sound card, but I think a RAM requirement is at least 1GB. The Home edition will not network. Those are the only technical qualifiers for not upgrading. There are about a million more as to why you need to hold off.
  • My PC has integrated graphics and no AGP slot so I cannot get a DX10 video card with more RAM than most PCs in the world right now. My PC has digital media that I did not purchase from a Macroshaft-approved source. Ripping CDs doesn't line the coffers of corporate fat-cats the way repurchasing the music in a digital format does, therefore I am concerned about DRM. It might delete data! My PC only has 704 MB RAM (768 MB minus the 64 MB I use for video). That isn't enough for Vista.
