    I think as soon as they are able to hold them it's fine. Just make sure they aren't eating them.

    I have to agree, as soon s they are able to hold them, but it's important to get the child to use them on paper.

    I started my girls at 18 months. Once they were able to hold a fork or spoon to eat with, they were ready for crayons!

    At around 2 they get a little less interested in eating the crayon, and start figuring out what else to do with it. This is a good time to start.
