Working through agencies is not good when you deal with national commissioned multinational society branches. I had the feeling something like this would show up.
I did a good translation job in a very short time (they wanted the thing done fast). I had to translate from Italian into English from .pdf documents into .doc files. I had to create tables from scratch because I could not work on .pdf
My client did not like the job I did on page construction, but the modifications are not linear with the original english file. And they also changed some of my text that now is not in line with the original.
Ok... the guy might know how to use word better than I do, but they asked for a translation, not an adaptation!!!

I told them it was unfair and what did they say? We might not pay you at all!
Today they write to me and say 50% or nothing. I guess I'll go 50%, which is 570 euro not considering taxes. Ditto, I really hate this society!!!

That's not a problem. It's a fact of life. There are so many awesome people in the world but there are also a lot of people to be avoided at all costs.
