I watched the race. Amazing how quickly this horse came from the back. Nice payoff for the superfecta - $557,000.
Who ever bet on the long shot made a butt load of cash.
Was that awesome or what?!?! That horse just seemed to materialize from the dust and hit the afterburners. See ya, suckers!!! What would be the payoff from a $2.00 exacta pick, and idea? The guy holding that ticket would no longer need to worry about no recession -- EVER!!
do you think that horse racing will meet it's demise in new york or do u think the NYRA will find a way to make it through.

You're reading Did you know that there was just the second most upset in Kentucky Derby history (50:1) with the winner being "Mind That Bird"? What do you think?

The Preakness is May 16th and The Belmont is June 6th.
I have some co-workers who enjoy horse racing. One picked 3 of the top 4 for the Kentucky Derby, he missed the winner.

Oh no..that's unreal about your co-workers. I'll mark the dates on my calendar and check out the times. Thanks Ed.

Loggybren, I just love to see someone discover the joys of horse racing! I have been watching since early childhood :-) A point of interest: a few weeks ago the Kentucky Derby was run and an unknown horse named "Mind That Bird" in last place surged up and won the Derby. That horse also ran today. The Jockey who rode him today rode a different horse, "Rachel Alexandra." And that is just the beginning of the story!

Rachel Alexandra - first filly to win the Preakness in 85 years and only the 11th to win a triple crown race :-)

Oh no!! I missed it!! What is the rest of the story Chicago Lady? Is it what Ed commented? Ed, I will have to put a big note on my refrigerator for The Belmont on June 6th.
