Help answer this question below.
I studied ancient Greek for 6 year, it is obligatory in every highschool of Greece. Had I chosen classical studies, I would have been taught latin as well, but I choose pure science studies so that I could finally enter the medical school.
Yeh, I did Latin in high school. I was joint worst in the class at it & the one time I tried & managed to get a half decent score in a test I was accused of cheating. Never made that mistake again!
Latin....arrrrrgh! As an academic major --college preparatory-- at least one year of Latin was an entrance requirement by most colleges/universities back when I attended high school in the '50's. And one year is what I gave 'em! Two years of a language was required, so, I elected to study two years of German. I did very well in that course.
See?: Ciao, bambino! :-)

Latin.
Latin at school. I did some Greek out of interest in my spare time after I graduated from university. All that is left of the Greek is the alphabet, useful in mathematical equations.
Latin
No. My school used to do Latin and Classics, but that was before I arrived.
We do French or Spanish. That's it.
Yes. It was a college prep high school. Two years of Latin and the Classics. No, no Greek, but I would have liked to study it. I studied German, instead. I am still fascinated with Goethe...and Schiller, and Heine, and Nietzsche. How such a people as the Germans could have lost all their cultural past and sunk into such a grubby dictatorship and state mythology is still a mystery. Even the Germans today cannot explain it.
