Mayan indians...DUH...cant you tell, sheesh...im a decendant. ;)...JUST KIDDING!! not to be taken literal.
Egypt and the Middle East.
That doesn't even make sense. The "cave men" (I'm assuming you are referring to Homo neandertahlensis, wasn't even the same species that the Inca and Aztec civilizations belinged to (H sapiens sapiens), not to mention the fact that Neanderthals lived probably no more recently than 35,000 years ago, where the Inca civilization STARTED less than ONE THOUSAND years ago, and the Aztecs began even later. For what it's worth, the Neanderthals DID have larger brains than modern humans, but I doubt they were "smarter."
.
By smart, do you mean the people with the most POTENTIAL for intelligence? Or do you mean the civilization that made the most technological advancements? Do you mean the civilization that stuck around the longest? I'd have to go with the Aztecs, personally, because they are the most recent group, and before they were Aztecs, they had still been in the region doing agriculture for many generations. They came into contact with the Spaniards and undoubtedly picked up some Spanish technology.
