Will flip flops ever be able to be called thongs again (without a snicker)?

    I call them "beachwalkers"..in Hawaii they are called "slippers". I've never called them thongs in my entire life. Why the snicker? Because some gals wear them instead of normal underwear? :) They were footwear first and why anyone decided to name G-Strings thongs I have no idea! :)

    probably not because people don't know them as thongs anymore, the know them as flip-flops so even if they didn't snicker when someone called them thongs it wouldn't be because they are mature, it'd be because they don't know what you're talking about.
