Verizon...all their phony BS commercials do not reflect their actual means of dealing with customers problems. They always say they will call you back and like the rest of society...they never do. Everytime you call them back, you get another person who cares even less than the previous one did and you have to start your story all over again. If it weren't for their good service area, I'd change carriers.

Low-end/discount grocery stores. They don't need to woo their customers because they know that many of them have no choice but to shop there (unable to afford shopping at other, more expensive stores)

I'd say any business that delivers TV media into the home. I don't care if it is Time Warner, Bright House, DishTV or DirectTV, UVerse, or any other "Provider". So you're interested in SatTV? Hmmm. Sign up and get a bright and shiny package suite of programming. I promise you, within 6 months, it will change, without warning, without recourse to you, the customer. These providers have a nice little scam going on: they supply a TOS which states they are responsible for NOTHING - even if your service should go out (ACT OF GOD- literally, that is their language), you still owe the money. If your equipment should fail (and cialis doesn't fix it), you still owe the money. I really wish it was like early SAT TV times where you could buy into programming independently of a "provider". I have DISH TV and if I thought there was a better option, I'd be THERE. But there isn't a better option, unless I shut it all down and watch MAC TV. LOL Not a terrible option, but I'd miss some things you just can't get online.

Most of those are out of business or soon will be, but of those that are not I would have to go with most airlines. They are always very nice, very polite, but won't do jack to help you. If the public was not convinced they were needed they be belly up. Tough question - a lot of competion in that area. +5
