Well being that the first failed to capture the essence of what made the first frightening by switching so many core elements around, I could argue, at least from my point of view, that the first was good. It was fun though, so who cares. This remake concentrated itself on Myers's past, so where is he going to go from that, I don't know...in the original sequel, Myers being possessed by a dark force had been established, so unless his remake includes something like that, or any kind of plot driving element like the first remake did, I'm sure it will be just as good. Otherwise, it might just end up as a trite continuation of the first. :/ Still though, I can't wait to see how Bud will be portrayed in this. :D

Oh, no - - he's making a sequel? [ His version of Halloween was OK but incredibly needless in my opinion ]

The first one wasn't very good. He tried to explain everything but didn't end up explaining anything. Maybe this one will tie up the loose ends and then just get into the gore, but I don't see that happening. I'm just hoping for a good old fashioned guts&boobs bonanza. What horror is all about.
