  • I wasn't aware that we did
  • this is a sweeping comment and not necessarily true!!
  • people who generalize are generally wrong i am a believer and i don't hate anyone!
  • Who says that "believers" HATE Atheist ? Why should I HATE someone for believing different than I do ? I do NOT HATE atheist ...
  • Must be jealous of our chili?
  • i dont hate anybody, not even athiests. but they do hate me! and say im stupid, judgemental, etc
  • Because we hate to see people fall into the trap of satan.
  • As a "believer" I do NOT hate atheists... As a believer... You are SUPPOSED to love them more! But most Christians dont realize that... Which is why I for one prefer the company of atheists to that of my own kind!
  • same reason why other religions hate other religions because they believe something different.
  • I don't think it's fair for you to say all believers have any hate for atheists. I myself don't follow any religious fate, and yes I've seen people's jaws drop and tell me flat out that I'm going to hell for not believing but I don't think that every one that I would classify as a believer has any hate for other beliefs and they respect them just as well as their own.
  • why are you making a generalization or an assumption?
  • I'm not a believer,nor am i an atheist. I hate everyone equally.
  • Believers like God hate anything that is a lie or is given to lying.
  • To you idiots who posted before: The question does not say "all", therefore it was INTENDED to be a generalization. And in general, it IS true. But atheists also tend to hate believers, so it's mutual. I've found that most believers see "I'm sorry, I'm atheist." as an insult to them, without even paying the least attention to the possibility that "God bless you." is an insult to atheists. (To all you believers, IT IS.) Atheists have been persecuted for so long that they tend not to want to express their annoyance, which is why believers come across as more hateful. They're equally hateful of each other.
  • I'm an agnostic. I've only had 2 believers express anything as much as annoyance with me, and they're very aggressive in their beliefs.
  • I don't think that all believers hate atheist. I am a believer and i do not hate atheist, or anyone for that matter.
  • I've always found it to be the other way around. Those of us who believe in God fervently try to persuade atheists, but with love. Atheists regularly spew the nastiest things about people of faith.
  • Who said? I just hate haters.
  • I'm a believer and I don't hate atheists, I just don't agree with them on certain issues and with my believer friends, I don't always agree with them on certain issues either. :-)
  • When you take the only thing they have, their only premise, they become insecure. The concept of death is almost impossible to understand without their God. No logic, no questions, just one word. Faith
  • I was not aware that they did. I guess it depends on what they believe. I am sure that someone who believes in something, somewhere, hates an atheist. True believers, in my opinion, should not hate anyone, though.
  • i dont hate them
  • I certainly don't hate them. I dont' understand how you could look at all the beautiful things in this world, or into the eyes of your child and not think that SOMETHING was behind it. But it is everybody's right to believe what they want, and not anyone's job to judge them for it.
  • I think you already know that is not true. The question is only meant to create friction.
  • Anyone with an IQ in the double digits knows, deep inside, that the notion of gods and other invisible spirits is ridiculous. However, they don't like to be reminded. :)
  • Atheists find no reason to say thank you. There are many reasons we can be thankful for - our lives, our health, the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink, the sunshine in the morning, the birds that chirp, the blue skies above. Rarely does it come upon their mind that these things should be thanked for – and to whom it should be given. It is sad to think that there are people that do not know how to give thanks – just like the atheists.
  • Dear Doctor, I have answered many of your questions. Always I have answered in love and respect as I will now. I do not hate atheist. I know that those who do not believe in God have a right to do so. I am happy to tell those who do not believe in God that God believes in them.
  • It's because they see us as a threat to their fragile faith.
  • As a group, I do not hate them. As individuals, it really maters. If they treat me kindly I will probably end up their friend. There is only one thing that sometimes can be annoying with some that I come to know. Is when Religion DOES come up, I’m always spoken to like an idiot for believing. I really don’t care what anyone believes or disbelieves in anything particular as long as they don’t have a problem with me. I just want to be acknowledged as a thinking, feeling human who in spite of my beliefs can be at least adequately intelligent.
  • I wouldn't say they all hate them but maybe they feel insecure when their belief is tested I'm not sure but I believe the bible says not to question god and the religion so maybe believers simply get defensive and feel athiests are a threat to their belief system and simply react in a way that seems to demonstrate hate rather than insecurity or disagreement Many people who tend to disagree on a subject might appear angry towards the person they are disagreeing with but truly they are just standing for what they believe in As for those who actually hate athiests it is most likely because they feel insulted by athiests and don't agree with their lifestyle
  • Look at mt Q & A's. I in no way hate atheists. I respect their opinions as long as mine is respected
  • I am a believer and I DON'T hate atheists!!
  • Just for the record, I'm a Christian and no, I do not hate atheisits, they just want evidences to support God exist, don't like to be force in believing something or they may have had bad experiences with religion while growing up etc , you just cannot hate someone just because they don't share the same beliefs as I do and they have a right to believe in whatever they want and I will continue to love them anyways.
  • Maybe they see athiests as a threats to their religion and they do not want their views to be challenged because the religion is a large part of their lives. There is a concept in both Christianity and Islam to have a fight or inner struggle to maintain your relgion as others will tempt you not to follow it.
  • Because THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
  • "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." ---As you can see, any "christian" who hates an atheist is in direct conflict with the commands of God.
  • We get to sleep in on Sundays. It really burns them when they're rubbing their sleepy eyes on their way to church and they can hear my snores from the street below my bedroom window. :) . Just kidding - most don't, but there are some who dislike everybody who is not from the same religion as they are.
  • I don’t think most hate atheists. I think most don’t understand how someone can not believe something that’s been a part of most, if not all, their lives
  • I think most Believers could care less about Atheists - which is the way it should be - because most Atheists could care less about Believers.
  • .I don’t hate atheist. They have a right to they own religion or non religion beliefs
  • That's the sad truth innit. Religion today, or for that matter centuries ago, has become into a PR stunt of sorts. Its lo longer about (i believe in you god) it's more like I BELIEVE IN YOU GOD!!! live and let be my friend!
  • Because they are not true believers.
  • Hm. I think that is a huge and dangerous generalization. If some do they need to turn their attention to their own faults. No one has a right to judge another.
  • That is why everyone should have their own belief. Sadly the people who have difficulty with a belief don't have an outlet or a second opinion other than the teacher of the belief to talk to and in certain circumstances they do commit suicide. Which is why we have conversations like this so that others can read and make up their own minds.
  • I believe that is completely false. Christians are being targeted by homosexuals because of their beliefs! They are being twisted into the bad guys because of one belief. Granted it may be wrong but they have no right to taboo a whole religion because of one belief. Muslims kill others for their beliefs but the core of their religion is good. Just because Christians don't believe in homosexuality doesn't mean that the entire religion is bad! The core of Christian belief holy and sound. Do unto others.
  • I am a believer. I don't dislike people for their beliefs but rather for their actions.
  • i dont hate them and i nvr have .. and all my friends who are believers also dont hate them as well ...take care
  • true believers don't, and that stands for both sides of the equation.
  • Im a Believer and i don't hate atheist =)
  • Because the atheists don't believe in the same things they do.
  • who hates atheists? I have nothing against them.... hte only group I find annoying along those lines are antiists... people who are more obsessed about your beliefs being wrong than they are about their own being right
  • it depends on which side your on to the extend of the "hate". Im Christian and i see more Athiest hating, but a Athiest sees more Christians hating. Selective listening and thinking is key with this, you will only remember and accept what you want and confirms your beleif(Athiest hate more, or vice versa)
  • because they cannot understand how somebody needs proof of something before beleiving in it. The whole thing with any religion is based on faith, or beleiving in something even though you have neither seen nor heard first hand, I feel as long as they keep sticking to their blind faith then i will stick to my beleifs based on facts instead of tradition.
  • For me it has nothing to do with their beliefs. I hate Atheists because most of the ones i have met, have been very "in your face" about how they are right and all religious people are wrong. Im not saying some religious people do that too, but it really rubs me the wrong way when atheists do it to me. Im also not a fan of atheists trying to force the politicaly correct police down every believers throat by trying to force out any religious reference from public use. So this is why I hate atheists. I hate them because they are intolerant of those who believe.
  • Because they blame anyone/anything that does not strictly adhere to the beliefs laid out by the literal interpretation of the bible, as the reason the ol' JC hasn't come back. Homos, female authority figures, masturbation, etc... That's the reason these "believers" are suffering. I know, pathetic, right?
  • there should be no hate involved. That is the point of the whole "religion" thing.
  • I am a "believer" pursuming I understand what you mean, and I do not hate atheists! I am commanded by Jesus to love my neighbour as my self (Matt.22:39) therefore as a fellow human being I love you even though you may be an atheist!
  • They don't. At least not all of them. People who are filled with hate are filled with hate whether they are theists or atheists.
  • thats a pretty bold statement. and I dont think you can accuse EVERY Christian of hating athiest's because it is totally NOT TRUE. most of my friends are Athiests. it all boils down to how you present yourself to others. some people are just really rude and beligerent and it has nothing to do with their beliefs. but if you get two rude beligerent people who just happen to be christian and athiest.. the likelyhood of them getting along is ZERO!
  • True believers do not hate, so your question lacks a foundation. Try again.
  • coz they know we r right lol hope it doesnt offend anyone
  • true believers do not hate atheist if anything atheist are more likely to hate believers remember they dont believe in anything higher than themself there is no judgement for their ways so they are more likely to hate anyone than some one who does believe in god.
  • This question arouses my suspicion that it's actually the other way around, and atheists hate believers for some reason. Please provide evidence that I am wrong. Thank you.
  • A true christian would never hate an atheist! A true christian doesn't hate anyone because the bible says to hate someone is the same as having committed murder as far as God is concerned. We are to love our enemies and do good to those who persecute us. By doing so we are heaping burning coals on the heads of our enemies - God knows the heart of each person and He alone can extract vengeance in his own time and by His own just will if that is what that person deserves. But the believer is to pray for His enemies. Paul was one of the believers biggest persecutors in the new church. He was actively seeking out and arresting anyone who was a follower of christ and he even held the coats of the men who stoned Stephen to death for his faith (the first martyr). The Stoning of Stephen 54When they heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. 55But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56"Look," he said, "I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." 57At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, 58dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep. But God turned Saul's heart to faith by appearing to him - and his name was changed to Paul and he became one of the most staunch witnesses for Christ that ever lived! So God's plans are not men's plans. A christian cannot, should not, hate an atheist as God may have plans for that athiest to turn to Him and serve Him for his glory.
  • Because atheists arguements are illogical, they claim God doesn't exist, but they hate him even though they don't beleive in him, you can't hate something unless it exists, big hole in your logic
  • I don't hate atheists. As a matter of fact, my brother-in-law is atheist and we're great friends. Jesus says that we shouldn't have such ill and destructive feelings towards anyone- we should love and respect everyone, even if they attack your beliefs and make fun of you for having them.
  • I'm not an atheist, but I respect all beliefs or disbeliefs. I hold no ill will toward any beliefs. There's just too much hate in the world already.
  • Because believers live in fear of the unknown.
  • It's something to do with "free will", believers just hate people with free will.
  • Because they couldn't convert them.
  • Because atheists clearly refuse to be thankful even for their existence to the one responsible to allowing them to be alive - even for just a day.
  • Lots and lots and lots of inbreeding. They don't get the whole Christian love thing doesn't mesh well with hatred.
  • Because they are taught that everyone that doesn't agree with them are automatically tainted by the devil and unknowingly do his work and will burn in hell. :)
  • No Believers do not hate atheist. I am Believer of Allah and I never hate any atheist.
  • For they have a jealous god who punishes the children of none believers to the third and fourth generation. But he still loves you!!
  • I don't hate atheist. I don't hate anyone. And if the person were to be a true believer, he or she won't hate atheist either. I don't know the whole bible, but I think it says somewhere about loving thy neighbor.
  • Once again a mass assumptions, I'm catholic and I haven't seen this. We don't knock on doors or stand in the park handing pamphlets.
  • What an inflammatory and baseless question. Switch it around and I can almost guarantee you that it would be rejected.
