Help answer this question below.

What does monkey equal if....two to the power of(2 monkey plus two) times four to the (monkey minus 1) times eight to the (two monkey minus 3) equals 256 to the power of monkey?

    Your math teacher got a strange sense of humor?

    2^(2m +2) * 4^(m-1) * 8^(2m-3) = 256^m

    Take logs base 2.

    2m+2 + 2(m-1) + 3(2m-3) = 8m
    2m+2 + 2m-2 + 6m-9 = 8m
    10m-9=8m
    m = monkey = 4.5

    Since fyrefish says the answer DOESN'T have a decimal, saving the comedy answers, I better prove that 4.5 does work:

    2^(2*4.5+2) = 2^11
    4^(4.5-1) = 2^(9-2) = 2^7
    8^(2*4.5 - 3) = 2^(3*6) = 2^18
    multiply all those = 2^36

    right hand side: 256^m = 2^(8m) = 2^(8*4.5) = 2^36 check.
