Help answer this question below.
because most of them are men. and because back in the days they probably wanted someone equal to them and just didn't say it out loud. like the greek and the olympic games with running they used to love tanned bodies and applying glittery powders.. someone wrote about what they looked like that lead to people believing they were implying their homosexuality but that they stopped when they got married to tend to their family. and now a days some gays look for a non-threatening relationship that has equality. so i guess it goes back through since art first came.
I am an artist and know many. As far as I know, none are gay. I can think of of no reason that being an artist, or gay, would lead one to become the other.
It is theorized that an enlarged hypothalamus gland in the brain makes people gay or bisexual in orientation.
Supposedly, this same part of the brain regulates artistic talent, as well. I do not know if that is true, as I am not gay, and am only repeating a theory that I have read.
More information on the hypothalamus is here:

It was speculated at one time, that many gay males were compelled to become hairstylists, due to the "artistic" part of their brains, as hairstyling is definitely an art.
However, many gay male hairstylists report that they style hair, because it is a good way to meet men who might interest them.
Why do you pretend thru is a real word?
leonardo
