  • Probably for the same reason The Professor from Gilligan's Island was able to invent anything he wanted from island resources, including cars in the last season, but not something simple like a boat.
  • When that program came out I was like wow. I have read many stories about that, Lord of the Flies, Swiss Family Robinson, Robinson Crusoe. When the program aired I was more and more disappointed with every installment. I just never got it...it didn't make any logical sense, I guess it wasn't supposed to so there is your answer.

  • But they are not without limited resources, they have always had food either by way of wild boar, fish and fruit, that's when they are not on the Dharma compound where there is all kinds of food plus when they are not on the set filming, they are eating out at fine dinning restaurants and the catering I hear is amazing, so he must be getting his fill in some way or another...
  • Maybe, just maybe, the "Dave" episode was THE ONE that was telling the truth about The Island. It is all a grand delusion of Hugo's.
