Help answer this question below.

Is it safe to take vicodin every 10 days for pain- just one a day, for 2 days in a row at most.. then waiting 10 days to take more..long term? I am asking because ive been taking it this way ever since december due to back problems.

    You're safe unless you have a compromised liver or have had problems with addiction in the past. Most people would have to take mountains of it to become addicted and that would have to be daily over an extended period of time, like 10-20 a day for six months or so. The rate you take them..no problems whatsoever I would think. If you have further concerns just call your doctor or an ER and simply ask. ;)

    i would never take it like it says, every four hours for pain otherwise i would become addicted lol. but i think one every 9-10 days or so will be ok. thanks everyone for the input

    i was in a car accident and had broken ribs and was prescribed to take a vicodin every 4-6 hours for pain. some people have a lower tolerance as far as getting addicted, but for the most part if you take it as it is prescibed there should be no problem.

    Yes, that should be safe. As long as you aren't taking more than you need, I don't see what the problem is. I take a vicodin or two once a month when I get my period (have for many years) and never had any negative side effects.
