Help answer this question below.

I just got my tongue pierced about 3 days ago and the swelling went down a lot but i have this white ring around the ball and sometimes it turns a yellowish whiteish color is that normal or is it infected?

    A certain amount is totally normal. You should use your listerine religiously and when you brush your teeth lightly brush around the piercing. Too much pressure can agitate the wound.

    You might also want to buy some Gly-Oxide. It is an oral antiseptic gel which you can use after each meal to cleans any bits of food out.

    Avoid beer as the yeast and sugars can also cause problems.

    I would say that having a piece of metal lodged in your tongue is not normal... therefore anything of any color eminating from it cannot be normal.

    Be careful you don't chip a tooth with that tongue piercing, I've heard of people doing that.

    You had better check that out with a doctor and make sure you haven't gotten an infection from the piercing.

    It happened to me and I was told it was normal in SOME cases (not all), HOWEVER, I am not going to tell you that because I could be giving you bad advice.

    What I am going to tell you is it CAN be normal or it CAN be a sign of an infection starting. You do not want to take the chance. It can caused by using a peroxide mouth rinse (use gly-oxide... it is better for the piercing and does not taste nasty), it could just happen, it could be an infection.

    Call your doctor and ask. I am certain that he would be happy to give you some advice over the phone.

    That is normal. After I got mine done, this little swollen ring, almost like a volcano, came up around it. It went away on its own, just make sure you clean it really really well.

    I WILL say this one time...ITS SCAR TISSUE DONT WORRY ABOUT IT....yellow liquid coming from it is just dead tissue...DONT WORRY...Ive went through the same thing..believe me its normal...and dont listen to JAMMco...they apparently are stuck to there own time and dont understand that its NORMAL to get piercings...ecspecially in the tongue..

    yes. ive got my tongue pierced and i have got yellow stuff coming from it. i am only 13 so i dont know any different but is it normal. also it is bleeding a little bit. not much though. it it normal.

    omg ik how it is, yes its all normal i have mine and its all good really. i had the little swollen ring around it too give it abotu 2 and 1/2 more weeks and it will be looking normal. even a little pussing is goign to happen just be sure to clean around it.

    Yea it's normal. I just got mine done 4 days ago and it's happening to mine too and my peircer lady said that it's just a sign of the healing and it's just dead tissue. Just make sure you clean around it when you brush and you'll be doin peachy keen :D
