Ok i been looking 4 shrooms in southern ohio in cow pastures i found sum under cow shit but idk if there any good so does any1 know if they can b found in southern ohio cuz i herd that it all depends on the climate

    The shroom don't grow under the dung, they grow on top. The ones I used to harvest in the '70's were light to dark brown in color, and when you broke the crown off the stem the break would turn purple. DO NOT take this as an authority on mushrooms. Eating the wrong kind can kill you or destroy your liver. There was a story that the DEA required manufacturers of commercial cattle feed to add an anti-fungal to inhibit mushroom growth, but I don't know that it was the truth or not. Would'nt put it past them in the great and wasteful "War on Drugs."
